An Adventure Overlooking Sydney Harbour....

I was doing a glamorous Canape Party in a luxurious waterfront mansion not so long ago for around 120 people.
The guests were arriving sporadically & drinking the alcohol soooo fast..
In a panic fearing the worst.. running out of alcohol, I phoned my guys & asked them if they could urgently rush me more, Champagne in particular.
These guys are always amazing & of course they arrived within about 20mins with plenty more stock… so all was well..
Guests were still arriving in their Designer Suits, Cocktail Dresses & Jimmy Choos dodging the chaos going on in the background. This time the guests all knew but I didn't... whoops!
OK now the driveway to this place is seriously steep & overlooks Sydney Harbour. And just so happens to be paved with Slate Tiles. Looks absolutely beautiful, really beautiful.
Well the day after this function I find out how impractical this beautiful & stylish Slate, Steep driveway really is. Well for my guys delivering the alcohol in their work truck it is impractical.
Only 1 guy came along in the dash of the last minute alcohol drop off as the shop had closed & everyone else had gone home. Love this guy Mike, it’s Friday afternoon, he’s had a really busy day at work & it’s 35C or 105F & humid. The truck of course, has most of it’s weight in the front as it is built to carry heavy loads. Well Mike quickly unloaded the truck & wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. Meanwhile the Designer clad guests were still arriving giving him & his work truck the disapproving look as it was where they wanted to walk!
So Mike started reversing back up the driveway only to discover he wasn’t getting any traction. Uh oh.. so he tried again burning rubber & black smoke going everywhere, then again this time making one hell of a noise with those revs. Nope that truck just was not going to reverse up that driveway without any sort of load in the back. This time completely determined to back out he totally psyched himself to floor it & knowing if he stuffed up he could well end up straight in the harbor! No pressure eh? J
Ok so will all his gusto, focus & determination he went for it & flawed it.. He flew up that driveway so fast that he had to jump on the brakes to prevent smashing through the iron gates..
Oh the behind the scenes comedies…
